The Sheepadoodle is a mixture of the highly intelligent, fun loving, outdoor loving Poodle and the loyal, loving, beautiful Old English Sheepdog. Both breeds are highly intelligent and easy to train. The Sheepadoodle is a hybrid breed (combination of two purebred breeds) that is low to non shedding and is ideal for people with allergies.
You are getting the best of two breeds in this Poodle/Old English Sheepdog combination. They are so loving, affectionate, stunning to look at, and in theory the hybrids are a healthier dog! When you combine the traits and characteristics of their Purebred parents, the resulting puppy inherits the qualities of both parents. The Sheepadoodle would have to share the same health issues as each purebred parent does and luckily, the two share very few health issues resulting in the Sheepadoodle living longer, healthier lives than their purebred parents. Sheepadoodles average life span is 12-16 years.
No two Sheepadoodles look alike and can be black, white, brown, tri-color or the most popular black and white. I have seen many different looking coats on the Sheepadoodle. I personally believe the more unique looking they are, the cuter they are. The Sheepadoodle coat can be straight, wavy or curly. An experienced breeder can let you know by the puppies first few weeks of life what type of coat he has inherited!
Also, the Sheepadoodle can have 1 or 2 blue eyes as the Old English Sheepdog carries that gene. The resulting puppy is a smart, fun loving, social, playful pup! Sheepadoodle dogs should be brushed regularly and regular grooming appointments keep them looking their best. They have a medium energy level but can keep up with the highly energetic person. They acclimate to all climates and environments and training should begin at an early age.
Your Sheepadoodle Puppy will be ready for his or her new home at 8 weeks. Puppies will go home with a vet health checklist, shot/worming record, a Purina Puppy Chow Kit, sample of Purina puppy chow, toys, biscuits, and a blanket with moms scent lovingly attached!
