Here at Great Lakes Kennel, we love our Yorkidoodle’s! The Yorkidoodle is a cross between a toy or miniature Purebred Poodle and the YorkiPoo (burebred Toy poodle and Pure bred Yorkshire Terrier). So essentially they are 3/4 poodle and 1/4 Yorkshire Terrier. The Yorkidoodle is a small breed dog, weighing anywhere from 3-10 pounds. Their life expectancy can be as high as 16 to 18 years. They are very lovable, playful, cuddly, nurturing dogs and can come in a variety of colors and patterns.
Great Lakes Kennel Yorkidoodle’s look like tiny little teddy bears and do well in any type of household! They do well in a quiet household and can also tolerate a crazy, hectic household and lifestyle as well! They are happiest when with their family. My Yorkidoodle’s love the car and race me to it to be sure they are coming along! The Yorkidoodle requires a medium amount of exercise. A brisk or leisurely walk once a day is more than enough, but you’ll find they can tolerate several walking outings in a day. A medium amount of grooming is required. The Yorkidoodle sheds very little if at all. The Yorkidoodle’s coat looks best when brushed several times a week. I take my yorkidoodle’s to the groomers every three months or so.
You will find that even though the Yorkidoodle is a small dog, they are brave, intrepid little dogs! Often times the Yorkidoodle will be the Alpha dog in a household. Don’t let their small size fool you, they will alert you and are usually first to fend off a stranger approaching your house.
Your puppy will be ready for his or her new home at 8 weeks and will come with a puppy health checklist, a record of their shots/worming medication, Purina Puppy Chow kit, a sample of Purina Puppy Chow, biscuits, treats, toys and a blanket with moms scent lovingly attached.
